hristopher Reed graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Peters College in Jersey City, NJ where he received his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Accounting.  Mr. Reed started his career with KPMG Peat Marwick in the Short Hills, NJ office where he worked for nine years and attained the position of Senior Tax Manager. During his tenure there, he was responsible for all aspects of the tax function for publicly-traded, small to medium-sized closely held corporations, not-for-profit corporations, and high net worth individuals, with a particular emphasis in the area of structuring corporate transactions and tax planning.

 

In 1992, Mr. Reed joined the firm of Mendonca & Suarez, LLC where he brought specialization and expertise in the areas relating to professional and/or personal service organizations, namely law firms, medical practices, and entertainers.  Mr. Reed also developed and now heads the firm’s not-for-profit tax practice.  Additionally, he provides the firm with unsurpassed expertise in the arenas of international taxation and finance, tax planning for high net-worth individual taxpayers, and assistance with corporate and personal multi-state taxation issues.  Mr. Reed has also been a guest lecturer on many occasions to a variety of organizations and to the general public as his professional experience spans many industries, emphasizing the professional service, non-profit sector, construction and real estate development practices, to name but a few.

 

Mr. Reed is currently a member of the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He has served on numerous boards including the Executive Board of the Greater Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce as Treasurer, and as a commissioner on the board of New Egypt Pop Warner Football and as head football coach for the New Egypt Football Pop Warner football team where he currently resides with his wife and children.
