Mendonca, a founding partner of Mendonca & Suarez LLC, received his
Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Rutgers
University NCAS. He began his career with KPMG, Peat Marwick where he served in the audit department of the New York office.
Before
starting his own firm in 1990, Mr. Mendonca was Vice President and
Controller of U.S. Operations for Rowland Worldwide, Inc. a worldwide
public relations firm and a subsidiary of Saatchi & Saatchi Plc.
As
managing partner of Mendonca & Suarez LLC, Mr. Mendonca has
extensive experience in operating a rapidly growing medium sized
business. He also has substantial experience
with corporate & personal debt restructuring, department of labor,
state and federal compliance audit issues including unemployment and
payroll tax issues.
Mr.
Mendonca has extensive experience in assisting “start-up” companies
with new technology, general business, organizational and finance
issues. He has assisted in the direct development of numerous major
real estate projects valued over 200 million dollars both in New York
& New Jersey. He has helped various European and Latin American
companies establish a major presence in the United States. Several
areas of expertise include, manufacturing, international import &
export, distribution, construction contracting, real estate
development, restaurant & hospitality, professional service
organizations.
Mr.
Mendonca is certified in both New York and New Jersey and is a member
of the New York and New Jersey State Societies of Certified Public
Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mendonca is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English. He serves on
numerous Boards including the Board of Directors of the Portuguese
Chamber of Commerce, Independence Community Bank Advisory Board,
Trinitas Hospital & Health Board and Trinitas Hospital Finance
Board.
